CrossTies works without ads, without sign-up and without visit counters.

What stays on your phone

Chat conversations, answers in tests and navigators, addresses in the postal code search and all calculations are stored only on this iPhone and are not sent anywhere.

Voice input in the chat: the iPhone itself recognises speech, in your phone's language. The recording is not saved and is not sent anywhere, neither to us nor to Apple; only the text goes into the question field.

What the app downloads

The app downloads news, guides, stories and service data from crossties.ca. The site receives an ordinary network request with none of your data.

Notifications

If you turn on notifications, the app sends our notification server the delivery address Apple issues, the app version and which notifications are on. The server keeps no name, email or IP address.

Assistant

Answers are written by an assistant built on Anthropic's Claude model. To prepare an answer, your question and the two previous questions and answers of this conversation are sent to the CrossTies server and to Anthropic. The assistant answers from CrossTies guides, stories and news, in the language you ask in. These are AI answers, not professional advice.

So that the assistant cannot be used outside the app, the iPhone confirms through Apple (App Attest) that the question came from our app.

Purchases

Apple handles the purchase of the Full version; we see neither your data nor your card. The app sends the assistant Apple's signed confirmation of the purchase.

Apple also handles the Pro subscription; the app sends its signed confirmation to the assistant while the subscription is active. The server remembers the purchase number and how much of the monthly allowance it has used.
